A small team of dedicated Silicon Power (SP) executives flew to Monaco on a mission. The team, Julio Redondo, Rui Pereira, Gabriele Fantasia, Lukasz Cisek & Panatojis Artoglou, escaped the office and headed to the beautiful city. Sunny weather and comfortable temperatures graced this year’s 16th Annual DISTREE EMEA exhibition, an annual event held from February 6th to 9th at the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco, a beautiful seafront resort located on the country’s eastern beach quarter.
Hundreds of senior-level distribution executives, including SP’s very own, connected with existing suppliers and prospective vendors to discuss business opportunities, sales, and marketing during meetings, workshops, and other networking events. Though the five SP team members went to Monaco to take part in these crucial business development activities, they kept their “eyes on the prize” throughout the event.
Silicon Power Showcases New Products at Influential DISTREE EMEA in Monaco
SP presented new releases, as well as classic, keystone products. Among the items on exhibit, the Bolt series B80 Type-C, the Bolt B10 Micro-B portable solid state drives, the Armor Series A75 portable hard drive, and the new Boost series of accessories were ready and available.
2018 has been another exciting year at the intersection of technology and commerce. This year’s DISTREE event was a testament to this. A number of industry leaders spoke on exciting topics such as consumer tech retail, the gaming industry, supply chain management, the start-up world, security, and the entire distribution economy.
As a leader in memory storage solutions, SP has won awards for their innovative product designs during the last two DISTREE exhibitions. Recently, SP has undergone a reinvention. They hired an international marketing team, developed a new marketing strategy for 2018, and have boldly entered new realms in their product development. With a market share in dozens of countries, they are ready to make a shift. Supported by these new initiatives, the team hoped to secure a third DISTREE award.
Nicole van Rooij, SP’s EU Marketing Manager, added:
“After 15 years of SP, this award would be a ‘crown’ on our work after proving to be an innovative, stable, high-quality manufacturer of storage products with a personalized service.“
A Paramount Event for Consumer Electronic Leaders & Vendors
In addition to winning another DISTREE “Award for Best Storage & Flash Memory Vendor,” SP hoped for a fruitful event with new distribution partners in the consumer electronics channel. Among the vendors, SP displayed their full range of products, focusing on three major categories: portable solid-state drives, device accessories, and Bluetooth wireless earphones.
DISTREE EMEA principally focuses on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Consumer Electronics (CE) businesses. The event this year, one of the most influential trade shows in the field, brought distributors and vendors together from CEE, Africa, Maghreb, the Middle East, Nordics, Russia, Western and Southern Europe. SP, a company welcomed by consumers in over 100 countries and awarded numerous international design awards, encouraged visitors to stop by their booth so they could see the excellent product designs and technology developments that 2018 has in store.
How Silicon Power Won Its Third DISTREE EMEA Award Against Tough Competition
The event culminated in a very special award ceremony for the SP team in Monaco and the rest of the SP branches. A variety of awards, including Audio, Mobile Devices, Smart Home, B2B Product & Solutions, Gadgets and Toys, Bags & Luggage, and Gaming awards, were given to a number of companies like AMD, Aftershokz, Boompods, Tuncmatik, Kaptivo, and Smanos.
DISTREE EMEA is invitation only, so getting an invite is a considerable honor. Other companies that attended the 2018 DISTREE EMEA event include consumer shopping behemoth Amazon and other innovative technology companies like 3dRudder and Anker. As the award ceremony drew to a close, the team waited patiently and hoped for the best. It’d been a busy three days in Monaco for the five of them. They had, however, achieved their business development goals for the exhibition. Pleasure blended smoothly with business this year for SP, as this year’s award ceremony was a booming success.
Finally, the good news blared over the speaker of the crowded luxury dining hall where the award ceremony took place. SP won the 2018 DISTREE Diamond Storage Award, their third year in a row as the respected leader in storage solutions. According to Julio Redondo, SP’s Europe and North Africa General Manager:
“The award is recognition for all SP’s effort in the past few months: new product releases, channel marketing activities, sales account management, and customer service. Though only a few of us were present at DISTREE, everyone in SP contributed to this achievement in one way or another.”
Across the communication channels and all throughout the company, news of SP’s success spread quickly. Though proud of SP’s win at this year’s DISTREE EMEA, the company notes a couple of other key wins: they held over seventy meetings with potential distribution partners across the EMEA region and increased brand exposure within the largest consumer electronics event for distributors and retailers.
A Stunning Reminder of Excellence in Their Field
For SP, the award is more than just something to hang on their wall for self-congratulations. This year’s DISTREE EMEA Award is a reminder moving forward that the company has a reputation for excellence and a passion for serving customers they must continue to improve in order to be the best.
With three DISTREE wins to its name, SP strengthens as a brand and has exciting plans for the rest of 2018. As for the five team members, SP hopes they’re willing to do amazing work again at next year’s DISTREE and urges them to leave some room in their suitcases for a fourth award.
